On April 15, Trung Thuy Group officially launched the Nam O Ecotourism Project and announced the program to support the local community’s career transition in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City.
According to Trung Thuy Group, the Nam O Ecotourism Project is located in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District. This is a high-class tourism project with the expectation of becoming a destination on the heritage journey of Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An.
"Taking advantage of the tourism strength of the Central Heritage Road, Trung Thuy Group and the people of Nam O will together turn Nam O into a must-visit place when tourists pass through the heritage land of Central Vietnam", Ms. Duong Thanh Thuy, Vice Chairman of Trung Thuy Group, shared.
At the launch event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy General Director of Trung Thuy Group and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong, Vice Chairman of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward People’s Committee also presented 50 support packages for 50 cases of difficult circumstances living in Nam O village with a value of over 600 million dong.
In addition, they also presented 50 snack carts to the people of Nam O village with a total value of over 500 million dong.
According to the investor, the donation of carts will help support livelihoods, help people proactively have additional income sources instead of depending entirely on the traditional fishing industry that is shrinking. At the same time, the plan to deploy a synchronous snack street along Nguyen Tat Thanh Park will contribute to creating a new attraction for tourists when coming to Da Nang.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of Da Nang Tourism Department shared that when the Nam O Ecotourism Project is completed and put into operation, generations of local people and tourists from home and abroad will have the opportunity to experience the most magnificent and beautiful appearance of Nam O beach area and listen to the wonderful stories of this land.
At the same time, the program to support the local community’s career transition will be a practical activity to help people here create a stable income from tourism activities, contributing to the sustainable development of the local economy and society.
The Nam O Ecotourism Project was planned in 2010 with an area of 36.6ha. The project was once opposed by the people of Nam O because it blocked the way to the sea in 2018.
In 2019, Da Nang People’s Committee approved the adjustment of the total detailed planning map of the project, adjusting the area to 24.99ha.
Da Nang brought 5 paths down to the sea out of the project boundary to serve the community; brought Nam O reef, sand beach out of the project; adjusted land frontage along Nguyen Tat Thanh street into a park, public parking lot; expanded existing residential road (between residential area and project) from 4m wide to 5.5m.
Thus, after nearly 13 years, the project has been restarted. The total investment is expected to be about 4,500 billion dong.
